Last year, I set some goals for myself.  Let's see how I did.

1) Take the time to enjoy my legacy.

I think I’ve done pretty well here.  I don’t feel the need to play if I’m not wanting to just to get out a new chapter (see the Distractions and my adventures into TS3).  The number of families has been cut back.  And, for the most part, playing is fun.

2) Meet generation 8.

Well, considering generation 7 is a child, no.  But I’ve made some good progress, and I know now who Nicky will marry so I can get started on that right away.  Plus, I forgot that delving into plot and staging takes longer than straight playing and writing it up.

3) To find a new job.

Check!  But now I need to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.  Can’t live off my savings forever.

4) To get in better shape.

Well, if playing with my Wii Fit counts, I’m doing pretty good.  If not…

5) To travel.

No travel except Disney.  Boo.

6) To try a new challenge.

Not a challenge, but I did play a lot of TSM and TS3 this year.  The break was nice, and I think I’ll save an asylum or bachelor challenge as a tie-in to my legacy.

Okay, that's what wanted to do/actually did.  Now, onto 2012.

Simming Resolutions 2012

1) Meet Generation 9.  Is it wrong that I've already written the epilogue to my story when I don't even know who two of the characters are?  Not that I don't love the Bradfords, but I'm anxious to get the family to more modern times, and to start on my next project.  So, I'd like to know who my Generation 9 heir is by this time next year.  That's basically a generation and a half to play.  I think I can do it.

2) To learn some more CC skills.  Specifically, I'd like to learn shoe swaps.  I find a lot of CC that I go *squee* over until I see the shoes.

3) Play TS3 more.  I think it's become my "open up and play for fun" game.  I don't know if I'll ever get more EPs for it (Pets makes me go blah and the Celebrity-ish one that's coming out leaves me cold), but I've spent a fair amount of dough on it so I should play it more.

4) More Simspiration!  I should write more, when I'm not working on a chapter.  It keeps me thinking about my characters and what they'll do, and consequently the chapters come easier.  So I'd like to commit to doing a prompt a week for the most part.

5) Figure out the job/school thing.  I applied to grad school, got rejected, and have been doing very little since.  I'm considering an online program, but need to get more details.  Baring that, I need a job.  I need my own place again.

It may not be a lot, but that's my Simming resolutions for next year.  Hopefully, 2012 will be a good one.
