If any of you bother with this, would you mind sharing your pros/cons or thoughts?  I'm trying to decide if I want to do the upgrading thing.

I love having a paid account. No ads, and a bunch more userpics. :D And really, it's not very expensive, so I feel it's worth it.

I've got a permanent account myself, and have since...2005? Whenever they had a sale and I splurged on it. I had a paid account before then. For me, it was totally worth it, but I know that it's not for everyone. No ads is definitely a benefit, though, and same for the userpics.

Also, I finally caught up on your legacy and quite enjoyed it. You will start getting proper comments on new chapters - I refuse to go back and leave on older stuff, or I'd go nuts.

I'm thinking that I would like the no ads part, and the extra user pics. Plus the added layout options appeals to me.

I like having a paid account. I just got tired of the look of the free pages on offer and just signed up one day. It wasn't expensive.
