Frustration x10
Oct. 6th, 2010 11:18 amOkay, I have a major issue with my game. I sent Meadow, Phily, Henri, Victor & Jane to Three Lakes for part of a plotty thing I'm doing for the next chapter. All is good. Or so I thought.
I took them to one of the more expensive hotels. I got the pop-up about reserving rooms. I did so. Got the pop-up about checking in. Before I could, the game went into build mode. WTF? I exited to the neighborhood. No family. Went back to Portsimouth. I could load their house, and they "came back" from vacation after a few moments.
Tried this again 3 times with different hotels & the campground. Same result. One time, I didn't even have the family arrive.
For giggles, I tried in a differnt hood. Same results. I didn't try a different vacation hood as I was getting frustrated.
I'll have to pull my DL folder tonight, and see if I can get it to work that way. I haven't downloaded anything much lately, but I'm wondering if something got fouled up when I transfered to the new computer (the last vacation was on the old machine). If that works, I get to have fun with replacing subfolders one at a time. This is one of the moments when I'm glad that I'm so OCD about my CC.
I'm sensing a rebuild in my future. Sigh. On the flip side, I can actually build a custom Downtown and University to start with, so I can have everything the way I want it. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

on 2010-10-06 08:51 pm (UTC)Hope pulling the download folder works, although that bites if the problem is in there. Maybe something happened when you installed BV and it needs to be reinstalled.

on 2010-10-07 01:56 am (UTC)I found the bad hack (not updated for AL - my bad), and all is good. Thank goodness. Now only one more house to play through before I can get around to writing the next chapter.
