Poker Face Prompt #4: 100 Words or Less

Prompt: 100 Words or Less
Characters: Desdemona
Word Count: 100 on the dot.
Notes: Consider this a teaser for my forthcoming BRRL spare story about Desdemona.  I’ve got about half of it outlined, and kind of know where I want to go overall.  My plan is to write the whole thing, and then film and release it from there.  Hopefully, I can get some of it up before too long.  So yeah…enjoy the teaser.


She awoke with a start, gasping for breath.  Her nightmare, always the same one, was growing stronger.

Her sister’s deafening scream of terror.  Her so-called friends thanking her for bringing her siblings to them.  Her body paralyzed with fear, except for the continuous chant of her inner voice, repeating that it was all her fault.

Whenever she started making friends again, it came back.  It didn’t matter who or what or where.  As soon as she let people get close to her, it reappeared more intense than before.  And that meant only one thing.

It was time to move on.

Yeah. :/ The idea that Desdemona felt guilty about being the one who convinced everyone to go that afternoon...I can see that really messing her up for a while. Which is one of the reasons that I wanted to tell her story.

By the way, I keep meaning to upload her for you - but I realized I wasn't sure what you wanted. Do you want teen/YA/adult? CC or no CC? About all we know about Desdemona after my chapters is that a) sometime between the end of my chapters and the start of Annie's she became an adult and dyed her hair fully green and b) she managed to get to Lily's wedding. So that gives you a bunch of options. I'm pretty sure she's in mostly CC in my game - including the eyes, hair, clothing, and makeup - leaving skintone as pretty much the one non-CC thing. But I'm not sure how much of that you want, so let me know and I will upload her for you.

Hmm...maybe as a teen, with her CC? That way I can see what she looks like as she was, and then I can go from there either keeping her CC or switching it out with stuff that I have that is close/matches, etc. Also, can you give me her genetics? I know they're a mess, but a close approximation would be great. :)

I have her uploaded here. It's the original file I got from Stacy and I'm pretty sure she's a teen, but without custom content. All of them are in the zip file along with Stacy's personality notes.

Thanks! I'll probably snag Rose's version too, since I'd like to at least start her out in the same (or close to it) stuff that she was in at the end of Rose's section, since I like some continuity.

Box has been a PITA finding links since they changed their format. She shows up with everything, and now I just need to decide if I'm going to keep her eyes or switch them out to something similar in my existing set. :D

I'm excited to do my little piece for this totally awesome project. The idea of Desdemona dealing with the fallout was what got me interested in her in the first place, so it will be a big part of the story. I'm excited to share what I've got in mind.
