Generation 8 now stands at 23 members.  And that's still with 4 more houses to play in this rotation (only 3 of which have baby potential, as Dotty's single of course).  I haven't had a generation this big in...well, ever I think.  Unless it was generation 4, before I started caring about population control.  Most of the spare households have already been cut off at 2 kids, but the others (main house, Walter & Shirley, Danny & Sakura, Bruce & Rosalie) are not on such restrictions.  I'm (mostly) going to let them decide how many kids they want, and deal with the repercussions.

Five of them are Bruce & Rosalie's.  I swear she's gotten knocked up each and every time their ACR timers go off.  So right now she's got 4 toddlers (the twins will become children on day 1 of the next rotation), and a baby.  Her house is a nightmare.  She just rolled the want for 10 kids, and I locked it.  I've never done it before, and since she's already halfway there...well, I haven't made up my mind entirely one way or the other, but it does seem like something Rosalie would do.  Except it will require some major modifications to the house if I do so.

I'll have pictures (oh, do I have pictures!) soon.  I'm going to wait until the end of the rotation, then I need to crop them all.  Since the rebuild, I adjusted the settings so I could have my game play in the whole of my huge monitor (and not need to constantly adjust ratios).  But then I realized that the in-game camera didn't like my ratios and the pictures didn't look right, so I got Gadwin and have been using that and liking it so far.  But of course, it now means I need to crop ALL my pictures before I share them, because they're HUGE.  So I'll be doing it in batches after each rotation, and going from there.

That's a lot of children! I limit spares to one baby each, usually.

With the pictures, do you actually need to crop them or just resize them? Because there are programmes available for resizing pictures fairly quickly :)

It is a lot of kids. Normally, the spares only get one kid, but I figured I could be generous this time around. Looks like it was a mistake.

Actually, I need to crop them (to remove the "paused" lines) and then resize them so they're not huge. And I already investigated and then found a program to do them in batches before I decided to switch to Gadwin. Wasn't going to do that without a simple way to do that.

There's a mod that removes the red pause lines. Though, honestly, I sometimes forget if I've paused or unpaused the game because of it.

I have a variation on that that I found at Leefish that replaces the red lines with something much less intrusive, but still requires a small amount of cropping. I found it to be a nice compromise because I can still tell when the game is paused but it's not as hard to crop out as the Maxis version.

On top of that, you're hitting the 60s, which means you can shove the Pleasure, Romance, Pop, and Cheese Sims into group houses and call them communes. It doesn't work quite so well for Knowledge or Fortune, and definitely doesn't work for Family, but it works for about half your sims.

I'll probably do something like that, or have them join the Peace Corps. Knowledge Sims I can always have "earn a PhD" by mastering all things there are to master or something. I'm sure I'll figure it out as I go. I usually do.

*looks at her period hood. counts* Okay, first of all, 28 is a lot of kids! Bruce and Rosalie should have 10! PICTURES!

All right, so I did a rough count of the sims that have been born in this hood since I started playing it. The oldest are children about 2-3 days away from teening. Right about 65 from infants to preteens. *faints*

Well, it's a lot of kids for *me*, considering everyone aside from the "main" families have been on spare control since like generation 3. :P I think I'm going to let ACR do its thing, and if Bruce and Rosalie end up with 10 kids, so be it.

Darn, I knew there was a reason the corner wasn't a good idea. :P It'll be fun having too many kiddlets around; I'm so used to spares only have 1 kid (if any) that this rediscovered challenge should actually be fun. That, and rearranging floor plans to fit all those darn cribs! :)

4 toddlers at once? The only time I've ever had that many toddlers under the same roof was just after I'd installed the Triplets and Quads hack. I was most unimpressed.

Yup, four toddlers at once. I've got an aging hack that makes 2 days = 1 year (and makes the ages more akin to real life), and an 18 hour pregnancy mod (because when 2 days = 1 year, 18 hours = 9 months), so the kids end up a lot closer in age. It's not exactly fun, but it does make things challenging again.
