“Do you really think you’re going to need all of that?” Douglas asked as Peggy folded up what appeared to be yet another sweater and added it to her trunk.
“Probably. Mom always complained about how cold the classrooms were. Besides, not all of us are going someplace warm like Calsimfornia.”
Doug smirked. “Not everyone is cut out for SimHarvard. SimRacliffe for that matter either.”
“Still, Calsimfornia is warm. No need for sweaters there. Have you figured out what you’re going to do when you get there?”
“Nope. I just know that I need to get as far away from Simsfield and my mother as I can.”
“I’m going to miss you,” Peggy frowned. “I get why you’re going, but I wish you weren’t going to be so far away.”
“You’ll hardly notice I’m gone, what will all those new people to meet in classes and in your dorm. Speaking of that, does your mom know that you got assigned to a coed dorm?”
“Yes. She trusts me.”
“What about your father?”
“Well…”
“Peg, you might want to tell him before move-in day. You don’t need him making a scene as you’re unloading the car.”
“You’re probably right. Still, I know he’ll make a fuss.”
“He’s a dad with a daughter. He’s going to make fusses. Your mom can keep him under control.”
“I hope. It’ll be hard enough being ‘Steven’s little sister’ on campus. The last thing I need is to be ‘the daughter of that crazy old doctor.’”
