I know I’ve been rather quiet on LJ as of late.  Of course, some of this is due to my “little” issue where my ISP and LJ don’t want to play together, and both are pointing at each other going “it’s THEIR fault.”  But it’s also because I’ve been busy.  With real life.  With Sims.

First, I’m poking at Chapter 27 of the Bradfords.  This chapter is going to be rather history heavy, as I really need to deal with the events leading up to World War II, as Pearl Harbor will take place during Chapter 28.  And honestly?  The history leading up to the war is not at all fun to write.  It’s tough to find the balance between history and Sims, if that makes any sense.  Plus, it’s a real challenge to figure out exactly how much of the history I want to include, since World War II (or any war for that matter) is Not Pretty.  Enough said, I hope.

Second, I’m working on a bit of a meta on how the War will factor into game play.  I’m nearly done with it, and plan on posting it later this week, provided LJ and my ISP decide to play nice for a few, as I have some pictures to go along with it.

Third, I’m messing around with ACR, to see if I like it.  I’ve mostly decided that I do, when I’ve turned the autonomy down a bit.  I don’t need my Sims to act like rabbits all the time, but I think it will be nice to let the main families decide on their own how many babies they have.  To that end, I’ve set up a Prosperity Challenge ‘hood to play test it some more (I don’t plan on using it in the main ‘hood until Nick & Alice and co start having kids of their own), and to give me a bit of a fun break when I just want to play.

Sort of lastly, I had a big Project Retag The LJ a few weeks ago.  I’m 90% certain that all is the way I want it now, but I’ll double check one more time to be sure.  I hope it makes it easier for me (and others) to find what they’re looking for.

As far as real life goes, I spent last week volunteering my photography services for a young woman’s firefighting program.  It was a great week, and I had a lot of fun with the staff and we had a great bunch of young ladies.  At graduation, they all chipped in and bought flowers for the instructors.  I don’t know about any of you, but I’m crazy happy when someone buys me flowers.  I may elaborate more on this, or I may not.  I tend to keep this journal Sims-focused, so I'm undecided at this point.

So, to recap, my to-do list is as follows:
1) Write and then film Chapter 27 of the Bradford legacy
2) Write and post WWII meta
3) Figure out ACR settings so the Gen 8 Baby Boom can occur as it will
4) Double-check Project Retag All The Things to make sure there’s consistency
5) Work on war chapters (to be explained in WWII meta)

And now, I’m going to go poke at the meta a bit more, hoping that I can get that crossed off my list soon.
